The contemporary age has witnessed many challenges regarding the common and conventional qualities of the best teacher. Langacker’s traditional model of Domain Analysis (1987), that is, the matrix domains of content, design, and delivery, still provides insights into the distinctive features of the best teacher even though the model indicates a relatively outworn model. Integrating Endicott and Lee’s presentation of survival dimensions, the present paper examines the students’ perceptions of their teachers through a qualitative, explorative, and experimental examination. The present research is limited to the domain of teachers and demonstrated that the participants stressed ‘knowledge, interest, mastery and updated information’ regarding the content domain; the participants emphasised ‘clearly setting goals, advanced preparation, and using teaching aids/effects’ regarding the design domain. As for the delivery domain, the participants considered verbal ability, class management, and ethical aspects. The study concluded that the ‘content’ and ‘delivery’ domains are ranked top from the participants’ perspectives. However, the sub-domains of these matrix domains have varied.
